This is actually a bow I started a few years ago. Got it to a point and was just never happy with it. It was taking set in all the wrong places and just had underwhelming cast. Threw it in the corner and moved on. Decided here a few weeks ago to pull it out and finish it up. Took a little off here and there and tempered the dog out of it. Very happy with it now. This is locally grown Osage which is somewhat rare in the Texas Hill Country. Very thick rings on it but not very dense wood. It's 67 inches TTT. At first I had the shape pretty elliptical because of the length. Reworking it I got it bending more out of the fades which seems to have made the difference along with tempering it. 1.5" of set back that drops to about 1/2 inch set back when first unstrung. 1 1/2 inches wide at the fades carried out to mid limb and then tapers to 1/2 inch tips. 50ish at 27 inches. Sinew wraps dyed with Rit dye. Very smooth sweet shooter!
The lace in the handle looks pink in the pic. It's red. I swear it. :)

Fine bow!
-
Nice bow like the wraps.

Nice work! Something to be proud of. I know it won't fit in those stockings(boots), so you can send it on to my house. I don't mind the pink lace at all. :)

It's red, I swear it!

Good looking bow, and hunting weight too. Well done!

Thats a good looking bow Slim and looks well tillered. Don't much care for the pink lace on the handle but everything else about the bow is great. ;D
-
Kind of a fuschia really.
-
OK..... If you say so, fuschia it is.

Great looking bow.
Did ya get that pink lace over in Austin..? ;)
-
cool bow!
-
That's a red Poinsettia....it looks pink....Dang, maybe its pink.
-
Pink/red, it doesn't matter to me. That is a fine bow. Great job on it Slimbob.
-
Nicely done! All-round good!
-
Love the looks of the bow! And it takes a real man to use pink lace!
-
Very nice bow, Bob. I bet she is a sweet shooter. 8)

Good job. Great looking bow.

Nice looker there slimbob

That's a nice bow all around. I never touched no osage but I bet it could even be drawn two or three inches further, it still looks totally at ease in the full draw.
If you'd like the pink cord to be red, it might turn red when you oil or wax it. Often with textiles and leather you need pink stuff if you want it to look red after being soaked with glue or finish.

That's a real nice bow Slim. Some of my favorite things are pink ;)
-
Now that looks like my kind of bow, love the color of older Osage. :) Nice save. :)

Super tiller and profile...I like that bend...Nice work
-
great bow....eh, red or pink the deer or targets won't care! >:D

Morning has dawned here in Texas and I've been able to take another look at the lace in the daylight. It's not pink (not that there would be anything wrong with that). I'm calling the color more of a "Wild Rose". The bow is going to a friend who has not seen it. His wife has though and she said she thought it was adorable!

Yeah thats was a nice save on it.I've got a couple sitting in the corner that I will revisit eventually. Really good job on that bow.
I'm glad you confirmed the color as wild rose cuz I got me a pair of wild rose colored undies that I'm sort of fond of and I was begining to think they were pink. Thats a big weight off my shoulders. Course I suppose thats what can happen when you mix colors and white in the laundry, lol. Danny

if a wife found it adorable....its pink,, but,, pink ,red, whatever,,dead is dead and the critter dont mind! beside ,it takes a real man to shoot a pink bow,or so i ha e heard....nice bow!

I don't mind pink, but if someone called a bow of mine "adorable" :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

That's a good lookin bow. Ain't nothing wrong with pink, one of my favorite colors.

Thanks to all. Blackhawk's right, long bows rule. 67 inches may just barely qualify as "long" but it's the longest one I've made. Smooth draw, no stack weight at all and pleasant to shoot. As to the whole pink and adorable binezz, I'm just going with it. :)
