Title: hickory/walnut/hickory glue-up help please
Post by: Bob Barnes on December 18, 2013, 01:46:14 pm

I'm helping another teacher make a bow for his father in law...I glued 3 lams together yesterday and want advise on where to go from here... :^) The lams are hickory back and belly with black walnut for a center lam. I glued it into a mild r/d that ended up right at 1/2" thick and just under 1 1/2" wide. I think I want to glue more hickory and walnut lams for the riser/grip but want suggestions as far as length of the pieces for the grip/riser. It's also about 66" total length with equal length limbs right now...please fire away with suggestions to get a nice 45-50# bow.
 thanks! Bob
