This oceanspray bow is now just over 1.6" wide near the fade and slow tapers to the 10" levers which are themselves parallel at the moment.
The limbs are about .6" thick below the fade and .5" thick through most of the limb.
Its about 67" and I don't care too much about draw weight as I just want to accomplish good tiller on this, my first, lever bow. But I can't pull much over 60#'s anyway so I'm my own gauge on whether a bow of this size is getting drawn past its reasonable weight.
any thoughts?:

I'm not sure about lever bows but it looks like you could get the outer limb bending more, not the levers but the working portion of the limb.
-
I agree with Pat. The inner limbs are doing a lot of work - I think you need to spread it out some.
-
Is that suppose to Riley or a FD shot?

+1 Pat n Gordon

Looks like somebody want to go out and play ;D
Steve, that grip of yours is putting greater stress on your lower limb right outside the fade. Tiller out from the fade a bit more and then match the upper limb to that profile. Reduce weight evenly from there........Art

Thanks for the feedback. I see what you mean, Art, that is what I'll do. Working on the outer limbs right now.
Some of the pics in TBB vol.4 lead me to focus so much on the inner limbs but I'm glad you all say its too much because it goes against my instinct to leave the outer working part so stiff.
The dog is looking out where I do my tillering. Waiting for me to spend time with him.

A little more work on those outer working limbs. Feels like about 50 lbs. right now. I might pike and/or heat treat at some point. Needs a few more days in the dry box before I proceed.
The pics show the bow inverted from each side.
Is the tiller improving?

Gettin there stevey boy!

Do you normally shoot upright Steve?
-
Thanks Baby Bryce, thats a big help.
Art, I don't normally shoot upright but I'd shoot any form if it meant getting my arrow to the deer's vitals.

That dog's a hoot

Those limbs are coming around better now.

OK, tiller is slightly different for up-right and canted shooters. Less heel pressure is applied when canting the bow and some pressure is relieved on the lower limb. From what I see, tiller looks perfect for when you cant the bow. For up-right shooting, just take a little heel pressure off the handle...........Art

Bottom limb is looking better ...top limb is still a hair more stiff in the outer working limb, but not by much

Thank again, All. Thanks Gordon.
Art, I grab the handle by the side, much as Asbel taught for the longbow. I know he has since modified that view but I like it because without any break in the wrist I feel it helps me keep my forearm away from the string. As I'm drawing my bow I'm actually wobbling my bow hand up and down so that equal pressure is on the heel and thumb. I feel there is equal stress on the handle that way. So I do that when canting too. And with a bendy handle where there's not much handle at all. I don't break my wrist. When there's no handle at all I still grab it from the side and pull into my thumb!
BH.....The four draw pics are two up and two down. But I think I see what needs improvement. I'll finish it up this weekend. Thanks for all your help.

I say the outer half are just a touch stiff. More so the bottom of the 4th pic
