I'm working with a long straight piece of mulberry. I've never worked limbs this long and I'm having a little trouble with the tiller. I'm not sure if it's good or if the irregularities of the back are just making it look weird. It's 69" long and I'm trying to keep the draw weight as high as possible. It's amazing how just a few scrapes on this soft wood will make such a difference.

In that case, hey everyone I made a bow! This one has a heavier draw than any of the others I have made so far. I basically made it with as heavy a draw as I could. Once at floor tiller I tried to get the limbs bending as even as possible even though they were only bending a little bit. This mulberry stave was really small and it had a pith in the center. I kept the groove at the tips and the hole goes through the handle. I tried a new type of string on this one. I used hemp and after you get the stretch out it's a good string. As always it is side nocked with a Turkish double loop and tied off on the bottom limb.

Tim,
If you are at your full draw in the picture......call it DONE 8) Don't see anything wrong with your tiller sir, I'd shoot the snot out of it. Nicely done by the way

+1 Rich. If it balances in the hand I'd call it good.
-
...maybe a bit stiff just above the top fade. Other than that it looks good.

Looks like a keeper. Nicely done! Shoot it and check it again preferably at full draw in your hand with a digi. Jawge

I'd reduce your tips some as well. No need for them to be that fat, and it will hurt performance.

Good work Tim!
If you get your hands on another similar stave, you should try out the HLD thing.

Nice Mulberry .....the wood is much softer than it's cousin. :)

I think this may have been Asian mulberry. Not sure if it's still related.
Good work Tim!

HLD? I don't think I'm quite to that level of skill. What are the advantages of it anyway?

Yeah, I agree but I wanted to keep the pith showing but I'm going to have to put performance of looks, plus it doesn't really even look that good. lol
