I followed tenbrooks build along and made my first arrow. I've tried to make them before but failed.

I am digging it. Kinda putting of the cane I have, as hardwoods are easier. Nice looking arrow..Field point or stone point???? Inquiring minds need to know...LOL
-
Lookin good Bowman53, nock looks a little deep, but if it works for ya, then it works. now you need to make about 5 more. ;) dp

It an be intimidating but looks like you have conquered the process. Nice cane arrow, Jordan.

Thanks Derrick, I shot it twice and didn't like how long it was either.

Thanks pat. I put off making arrows for so long lol. It's not too bad though.

When you grind down the head, grind down the leading edge of the bamboo as well. Makes for a smoother entry into the target. I grind mine on a horizontal sander and grind the edge of the bamboo down till it meets the second nail "head"
-
thanks for the tip buck
-
Nice one Jordan you might want to wrap your nock a little higher so it don't split on you.
-
Good idea. I'll do that before I shoot it again.

Nice idea. How thin can you go before you lose too much integrity in the bamboo?

I made a couple of arrows with the double head nail and one thing I would do different is wrap the cane around the nail. Badly bent shot an arrow into my shed and split the cane >:D

That's hilarious, I only shot it twice and the first arrow went right into the shed lol

I shot that arrow into Paul's shed on purpose too. >:D
Nice looking arrow Bowman, I think your ready to make a quiver full. :)

yeaaahhhhhh..... me too. lol n

you do need to wrap it at the tip it will split on you, like I already said you did good grasshopper
-
Keep that kid straight bubby.

Well I think you passed now. Like they said shorten the depth of the nock, and wrap a bit more on the nock, and wrap the point, about 3/4 to an inch. Nice job. Now you have a model to reference, for the rest of the quiver full. ;)
