A good friend of mine [castiron] Grant has been working on a Osage bow for a few weeks
now and finely got it finished this weekend.it was looking good.It had a dip in the back and
I think he got a little thin on the belly right in the low spot altho it wasn't showing a hindge
there I think it just put to much presure on the rails left on the edge of the limb in that spot.
You never really know for sure but that is my guess. The wood looked a little different there
also when it broke so that could have been the problem.I shot it and it done fine but he draws
about 3 inches more than I do and it blew on the first shot he made. :'( He took it pretty good
but I hate it when that happens, like Jawges says if you ant breaking um you ant making um.
Here is the pictures.

At least it stayed in one piece and didn't wack anyody. Get back on the horse, Grant! ;D

Hate it when that happens.

That bulbous handle looks cool. I'm still rying to decide what kind of handle feels best. I have only held four self bows in my whole life and they all had either rectangluar and thin or a little more rounded on the edges like the one I just did. Could I get a close up picture from all angles on that handle section to look at. I think I want to try that out on this next bow and see how it feels. Danny

Thats tragic Pappy, a lot of work invested to see something like that happen---but---that will make the next one even more appreciated I'm sure, wen all goes well. Everyone have a good holiday---Glenn.

heck, that's just a big splinter. super glue her back together and wrap with sinew or sinew the entire back and retiller.

My condolences, looked like a sweet bow.
