Title: born again/ pics from first build added
Post by: bubby on March 10, 2014, 04:25:23 PM
this is a reworked osage bow, originally a flatbow, it had gained quite a few #'s and I figured if it needs reworked i'm going the whole nine yards(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/truck/osage%20renewed/101_4458_zps1da4907a.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/truck/osage%20renewed/101_4458_zps1da4907a.jpg.html)

62"ttt and 52# @ 28" with curly maple underlays and bison tips, I wanted to leave some of the old build so the snakeskin in the grip area is from the original finish job, I added the skins towards the tips and wrapped with silk thread, the grip is some leather I got from the Outlaw, thank's Clint, d-97 string 10 strand, for some reason I've been making the loops to big as of late so I served them a bit

here's the money shot, this ol' gal fought me tooth and nail on the tiller and still may be a touch stiff in the bottom fade, but what set there is was on the bow from the first time around, I must have put at least 2500 arrows thru her before, she has no hand shock and to coin a Fraze of a buddy, she's a hammer, hope
ya'll like it, bub(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/truck/osage%20renewed/101_4456_zpsb6794a3d.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/truck/osage%20renewed/101_4456_zpsb6794a3d.jpg.html)

bout time you got her finished.

when he says this bow fought him on the tiller he means it. there was a flat spot that just would not go away.

Real nice job on that one lefty, I like it a lot. Looks like an absolute shooter and the finish treatment with the skins and wraps is sweet on that osage, very nice rework.
