I just got a new selfbow, shot it today and was getting slapped on the base of the thumb, didnt have my guard, but not sure if that would have helped seeing that it was hitting the joint where the thumb meets the wrist...any thoughts?
-
How high is the brace height? Can you post a pic of the bow at brace?
-
sure sounds like a loose string.

turn your hand a bit to the left so your thumbknuckle is center of the bow....gonna be hard to hold hold if its a heavy weight bow....how is string tracking?
-
also measure your brace height.
-
Brace height is 3.5"
String tracking seems fine
-
Raise the brace height to about 6" and try it.
-
yup,
Raise the BH.
-
Raise the brace height by making the string shorter?
-
yes.
twist the string,in the right direction to shorten it.
-
Does your string have a loop on both ends or a bowyers knot on the bottom?
-
ahhhh theres the rub...er slap...brace height
-
Thanks y'all! Moved it to 5"...no slappy
