Gotta love it! If you get them through the hole
you won't really need the boat net or a cooler full of ice.

Still 30" of ice on some lakes here in NW MN. They were drilling holes for fish this weekend....Crazy when it is 50 degrees and sunny.

Barely 60 here, but the big crappie are biting, and the white bass are starting to run!

My earlier post is now false. Over the last 3-4 days the lake thawed and the ice sank. The river is roaring and the eagles and ospreys are cruising all over.

Rivers are open here, but most lakes still froze over. Been in the 50's and nice.

The catfish in the Maple go ape poop in the next week as well Bob. A guy "in the know" can catch 12-15 big channels in a few hours starting at sunrise until 9-10 o clock. And the high water allows a decent sized fishing boat to be used!

Are those Maple River Channels eatable in that area ? We catch the dickens out of them and BIG Flat Heads on the Saginaw. Don't eat them tho - "glow-in-the-darks . Bob
