Got this one rock in a trade and just pulled the flakes out of the kiln. No idea what it is. At first I was thinking coral, but now not so sure.

Is that an agate?!? It was only cooked to 450 so temp never went very high.

Carnelian. I had a piece with the cortex just like that. Hard as nails untill you heat treat it.

That is beautiful stone.  It reminds me of the material around Geodes.
