Did I mention this is for my first grandson that will be born in Feb.
Mine son and his wife are going to name him Hunter!! At least his first bow will be primitive but no doubt my son will have some modern equipment for him too. LOL
Didn't know what he might be able to pull so just guessed. It's 18 3/8 NTN!!!

Lowell,
Very sweet.
The last photo took me by surprise.
Have you made any tiny arrows?
Mark

Sweeeeeeet! I have a little, tiny Yew stave set aside for my daughter's first bow. I can't wait.

Thats some fine work on such a small scale.

Way Cool!! Lowell. ;) These little bows can be as difficult as a full sized one and you did a great job on it. I'm sure your grandson will grow up to appreciate the simple things in life because of his grandpa. 8) Pat
-
that was cool ;D
-
Great job Lowell. You just need to spend time with him shooting and he will see the value of primitive since he will love spending the time with grandpa. Justin

Pretty tricky, when I looked at the second photo I thought the limbs looked a little thin but then I saw the third and understood, thats really neat. must be hard to knap heads for the arrows that thing shoots.

Very cool lowell, He will outgrow that one in no time so ya better get busy ;D
-
you got me...cool !
-
Hey! Thats smaller than mine No fare! lol
-
The setup of those pictures was perfect - I howled laughing when I scrolled down and saw the last picture. That was great! Love the little bow.
-
That was way cool. I would like one with a dozen little blunts to shoot people at work. Danny
-
What fun! I, too, thought it was full sized until I scrolled down. Reminds me of remote model airplanes that look so real!
What is the wood in this bow?
-
You got me to,very nice job. ;D ;D

Thanks all. It was fun!!
I tried to post picture without anything to show actual size till last pic. It was on a table and leaning against the wall but was next to a light switch so I had to crop that out.
Oldbow, It's osage and is down to about 1 ring of sapwood and 1 of heartwood.
Now back to some "real" bows!! ;D ......Unless I make some arrows and a quiver for this one first.
-
By all means make some arra's and a quiver it will be quite the party bow ;D
-
ha ha that made me laugh :D I'm impressed though, great tiller.
-
Think I'm about done with this small stuff. Actual size bow and arrows are easier I thnk.
Anyway here are the arrows. Rose shoots with turkey feathers and painted points. :)
No time was spent to get them to proper spine!! :D
Sorry I didn't post pics when I first made this post. ???
