Post by: PeteC on June 08, 2014, 08:30:22 am
Where can I find Urac glue?. I hear it is no longer being made.If so ,is there a good alternative for splicing billets and that will fill voids like urac does? Thanks, and God Bless

URAC is now Unibond 800. It's pretty much the same stuff from what I can tell. The only difference I noticed was it's a little lighter shade of brown when cured.

I Googled Unibond 800 and you can get a light and dark brown.

I got the dark brown since I work with ipe a good bit. It works great. I can't compare it to Urac, though, cause I never tried it.

I've used both in various projects.  The UniBond 800 is marginally better for adheasion strength.  ...and they report that it has better water resistance, ...though I don't normally have too many wooden glue up jobs that have to endure submersion these days.   ::)
