Title: Robin Hood Cream Ale
Post by: osage outlaw on June 11, 2014, 10:17:53 pm
I stopped at a junk store today to look for some old tools or other treasures.  I didn't find much but did see a bunch of old beer cans.  My father in law collects old beer cans so I bought 84 cans for $4.  I was getting them out of the car and one stood out to me.  I might have to keep this one.  Has anyone drank one of these?

I've seen cans of that in collections before and have always wanted to get a hold of a 6-er.  Nice find, can appears to be in great shape!

Looks like sissy beer! :P ::) ;D ;D  You need a manly beer like Billy Beer!  Man that stuff was awful!  I had a friend of mine who used to collect beer cans, to sell to collectors.  I helped him find some neat ones, at an old dump, and incinerator.  He had some of the older ones, before the church keys, they looked like brake fluid cans. 8)

You should shoot it straight through into some backing and hang it from a wall as an ornament!

One of the cooler cans my grandfather had, full six pack. How about the Schmidts and Frosh and Slosh cans? Schmidts had cool fish and wildlife on them and the other had full figured women modeling swimsuits ;D

Now I'm going to have to go through the rest of the cans.  Thanks a lot Tracy  ;D

A guy I work with still drinks the little kings.  He was telling me today that it was his favorite beer.

Clint, you better Google "beer can collecting" and see what you have there. There might be a retirement can in the batch.  :o

Might just do that Pat.  The lady at the junk store took me in the back room and showed me a few stacks of boxes about 8' high.  She said each box was full of beer cans.  Some guy came is selling them on consignment.   15 cents each or 2 cans for a quarter.  Maybe the retirement can is in there.

I also wonder if it is at all like Little Kings. They went under for a time, and Maybe this was the knock off. Kings are great, and you look like Andre the Giant when you drink them!

Clint,
I once saw a rusted "Gorilla" beer can sell on greedbay for several thousand dollars.

There was a billy beer can in the box.  He picked them up today and was excited about them.  There were several that he really liked.
