Folks I don't post many here but wanted to share this simple Osage bow...She's 57#@26", 66" ntn, has no hand shock and shoots hard and flat...Got lucky I guess, thanks for looking...

Few more...

Great job man. That full draw looks sweet. I dig the unbraced profile. I like the dead flat look of an unbraced bow. Well done.
-
Wow man! I'd say you nailed that one. The tiller is spot on and I especially like the handle wrap.
-
That looks like a sweet shooter. Well done Sir! Josh
-
Don, a thing of beauty for sure. That full draw is about perfect....whole bow looks great.

Really nice work! I bet it's a smooth shooter

-
Nice bends on that one Don.. ;) no wonder it shoots good for ya :)
-
Nicely done Don. Looks like you nailed it!
-
Well executed! That tiller looks perfect and just the right amount of snake to give it a bit of character. A+!!!
-
That bow will shoot forever.....
Well done.

IdahoMatt, Thanks, I induced 2" of reflex and after tillering and shooting it came back dead flat...
JO5H, Thank you, some 8oz leather I had...It was stubborn to fit tight!
GunDoc, Thank you Josh, this one came out sweet...
Rich, Thank you so much my friend...
Tracy, It is smooth as butter for now, hope nothing changes...
bubby, Lol, I really did get lucky this time...Thank you
Pearl, Thanks man, It does feel balanced and has a really light thunk on the release so I stopped tillering
right there even though I was a few pounds heavy.
Blackhawk, Thankyou Sir, She's plain Jane but shoots good for me...
Slim, Thank you for the compliment man...
Will, Thanks for the A+ !!!
GMC, Hoping she holds man...
Thanks everyone, coming from my peers these compliments sure
mean a lot to me...

Looks like the perfect bow Don, nothing simple about one made that well. Like the others I think you nailed the tiller on that bow, that full draw pic. could be one to use as a reference for great bend in that style. Must a good shooter too from the looks of it, real nice work.
-
That's a great bow for sure! :) Luck has nothing to do with it when you create a bow that has no hand shock and shoots hard and flat. It's all down to the bowyer and it's the bow's way of telling you that you did well!
The tiller is truly examplary.
This only minor point of critique I have is regarding the string grooves. The back side of the grooves appears to have a sharp 90 degree angle. It would literally take one minute to round the edges a bit more, to minimize the wear on the string loop.

Greg, thanks man...means a lot coming from you. I'm going for a bendy next project but I have to locate some bear grease to finish this one up...
Don
-
Your right Jorik they need to be softened up a good bit and I still need to put a finish on it. Thank you for the compliments Sir...

Excellent job on that one. Straight longbows are my favorite.
-
I'm betting luck didn't have much to do with this bow. Excellent work.
-
Beautiful bow Don. I just keep getting wowed by the bows on this site. Thanks for showing it.
-
Badger, RPS3 and DuBois, Thank you guys for your comments...Yes there are some beautiful bows on this site DuBois made by some real artisans and wish I could be at that level some day...This is a wonderful site full of great folks...
Don

You nailed it Don! Good work!
-
Don, I have to agree with Dark Soul in that luck had nothing to do with it. That is just great work my friend. I like everything about this one. Tiller is spot on, the leather work looks sharp, full draw and unbraced couldn't be better. That looks like a first rate hunting bow to me.
-
Scott and Howard, Thank you for the kind words much appreciated coming from you guys...
Don
-
Very nice work, got to love that. :)

Don
Really nice bow you have there. Tiller looks perfect. I really like that color of Osage. Thanks for sharing.
-
Great bow and great tiller. That bend is so pleasing on the bow center of the brain. Like therapy :D
-
That is a beautiful tiller shot. Great job on that bow.
-
Pappy, dwardo and osage outlaw, Wow! Thanks guys for the kind comments, much appreciated...
Dean, a big thank you goes out to you, that was one piece of sweet Osage you sent me full of red streaks and not even a pin knot...Probably as close as you could get to a perfect stave...Thank you all again :)
Don
-
Very nice ,I do love that red streakd Osage!
-
Tiller perfection! Sweet job all around.
-
Soy and randman, thanks for the comments...Much appreciated
Don
-
Looking at the back of the bow it looks really flat. Is it decrowned or something else?
-
No sir it's just a flat piece of unbacked Osage...You may see some grain in this picture...
Don
-
As others said, that bend is about as good as it gets.
Nice job!
-
That's a good looking stick and a beautiful bend. I like the tips also.you don't have to worry about anything popping off.
-
That is a really nice osage bow. I love the handle wrap. Excellent job!
-
Your tillering job looks like it was done by a machine or something. It is absolutely perfect. Good job.
-
