Title: My backpack challenge Osage.
Post by: BOWMAN53 on July 13, 2014, 12:44:44 am
I'm not sure exactly how heavy it is but it was hard to pull it to 20". It's 40" long 1" in the middle and it took 1" of set. This is a really solid piece of Osage. And yes I know the right mid to outer  limb is stiff.

Good job on that little piece 8) I agree that the outers are stiff. I have to say hooking a bow on a tree at full draw might be one of the worst things you can do to it. Probably helped  create some of the set. Jmo ....once again sweet little bow.

Definitely agree but it's all I got. I usually use a pulley but I don't have that set up anymore.

Very nice, it has a beautiful arc.  I doesn't take much osage to make a powerful bow does it.  I hope to have my backpack challenge bow ready to post soon.

I believe the rules are 40 inches or less, drawing over half its length, hunting weight, and NO sinew.  And no takedowns.

Sounds fun.  Is this a contest?  Any deadline?

Ahh, cool mine is 38.5" ntn and pulls 45# @ 20" the tiller is just a little off but its holding up, as soon as I have it finished with a grip and string I will post it, I just finished painting it.  There is no deadline or contest, just a challenge.  Make one if you can and post it for all to see, and try not to get hooked on short bows.
