My son was walking past the bow barn at Marshal this year, and Paul asked who that boy was with a fiberglass bow. I told him he was my son, and Paul asked if I would mind if he gave him a bow. Paul told me that this bow was simply not wanting to be an adult bow. He tillered it down to a weight my son could draw and grow into. He changed from a right handed to a left handed bow, finished it, and added a grip and string.
It has meant a lot to my son, and I was thinking it would be cool to see if we can't do something similar in the future for children. I know a number of children that came to Marshall this year and didn't even have a bow, let alone a primitive bow. Something to consider.

The look in his eyes made it worth it for me. Looks like he is already growing in to it better.

Good job Paul! !
this very much the norm at Marshall
Indiana did I get to meet you if so forgive me I have forgoten
gift giving at Marshall is so popular that it is kinda like Christmas
I saw alot of things given away there and not just to the younger ones
Iwas kinda busy and almost didn't give away enough stuff to make room for the trip home with the new gifts that I received!
I also forgot to remind folks to try to get pics of the kids they give bows to in front of the totem pole , thats the best place to do it as it draws a crowd and makes for an even more memorable time !
Good job spotting a youngen that needed a bow Paul
all the adults there need to be on the look out for the youngens that need a bow so we make sure they go home with at least one!
thanks for posting this !

way to go pauly, look's like he's getting full draw on her to, that's the best part about building bows ain't it Paul ;)

If Marshall means mojam then I hope I got to meet the both of you! My name is Patrick and I had the silver dodge with the ram boxes on the side. I'm fairly new to bow making but I will for sure try to have a few kids bows that I can hand out and or finish while I'm there for the little guy's. View are the ones who need them the most! Good job Paul, what a great gift and a beautiful bow as well. Patrick

What do you folks think
should we but up a sign up sheet for kids that show up with out a bow to get their names on or would that be to heartbreaking if we can't get to all of them ?
We have a few months to get ahead of the game if we want to
what age bracket?
any other stipulations?

Way to go Paul! Very nice gesture.

Pauly you stud. When Paul got to camp and unloaded all his stuff we where going through each others bows and came across this one. He told me he was going to give it the right kid. You found what you where looking for knocker!

That was very thoughtful of you Paul, I'm glad I was there to see that young archer loose his first arrow from his new
custom made bow. Also have to mention how nice that bow turned out as well, that was a first class looking and shooting bow. :)

Thanks buckeye, I will try to keep up with Paul's standards at mojam next year though! There will be a kid with a new bow next year!
