Me and my pa were playing hookie from work this morning and went for a drive up the canyon we probably seen 40 head Of deer we pulled up on a doe and two fawns and one of the fawns had pink eyes and was almost white in color
I have only seen one other albino in my life and it got me wondering if seeing am albino was good luck because my muzzle loader hunt starts Tuesday i could really use some good luck i lost all my mounts two years ago in a nasty house fire wich also landed me in the burn clinic for a couple months cause i ran back in and saved my dog and this will be my first major hunt since

Had a chance to shoot a 8 point albino with a rifle in deer season. I was driving to work and saw him lying by a pipeline, stood out because he was so white. Had my rifle and gear but didn't seem fair to shoot him like that. Everybody was hunting him and never heard of anybody killing him.

They are illegal to kill in Tennessee,never have figured out why,bad gens cause it so you would think they would want them out of the herd :-\ :-\.

Tyke, you don't need luck when you have skill. You are about the most consistent hunter I know. I have a feeling that it may be due to the fact that you understand that no matter how long you boil horns they will never make a decent soup. You are a stud for saving Cash. Come over tonight and have a few drinks. >:D

It would be good luck for me because I've never seen one...or a piebald deer. ;D I don't know if I'd shoot one until I got the chance. ;)

I can tell you that some Native tribes had Medicine bundles that contained the pelts of albino animals. A White Buffalo was, and still is a huge thing. People will travel a thousand miles to see one. Also, in some tribes, albino people were considered sacred also.
If you want to make yourself "hunting luck", this can be done. This was a common practice of hunters long ago. But it's all up to personal visions and interpretations of them. Or things you find, like a stone arrowhead, for example. Or perhaps some other stone that catches your eye. Or something you made that just has that "feel" to it. With this you make yourself a hunting charm. I can't go into great detail about that here, though.
That said, a lot of hunters would have basically a "sixth sense" that put them right where the animals were. Mostly skill and being able to read the signs and pay attention to Nature and just "know" that an animal would be here and such-and-such time. They can't explain this, so they attribute it to certain charms or talismans they made.

Don't see how it's necessarily bad genes. For half the year it would be perfectly camouflaged up here.;)
There's also no such thing as good or bad luck. Stuff either happens or it doesn't.

The difference between good luck and bad luck depends upon who defines it. Bad luck deer hunting is bad luck for the hunter, but good luck for the deer. For each person who gets "lucky" at the casino, there are thousands who were "unlucky". Luck, as we know it, is actually two faces of the same coin called Chance.

So, good luck that you saw an albino deer at all. Makes sense, and I like it a lot.

Agree that there is no such thing as luck. You had good fortune to see the white deer. I have never seen one but my dad killed a piebald deer in Pennsylvania one year. It was 90 % white. Had the head mounted and hide tan. When he got the hide back it was about half the size if was when he sent it out. He laughed and remarked that he didn't think leather would shrink that much.

Ive came to the conclusion that i was fortunate to see an albino just like i was fortunate to watch my dad and nephew take awesome deer under my guidance even though i cant hit the broad side of a barn at 60 yards and you guessed it i was lucky to be there with them thanks for all your opinions
