Here is a Hackberry board bow I made for my daughter. It is 40" long, 1.5" wide, pyramid limbs to 1/2" tips. We went out yesterday as a family to shoot and she had a blast.

Nice bow, beautiful smile (!) and interesting finger grip on that string.
did you made it? are they tied to the rope or free to roll?
-
That is awesome. She looks very happy with it. Great job.
-
Thanks.
I purchased them. They're called No-Glov Finger savers.
-
Good to see some Nate work again, cute little girl man!
-
That smile just brought a little sunshine into my day thanks. That is a great looking bow, Have fun! Nice work.
-
Cool little bow and cute kid!
-
Nice bend on that one. She looks pretty happy, Dad!!
-
What a loverly lil bow! Just 40" long ... amazing.
Yeah, the grandkids are partial to those rubber finger thingys.
Judging by smile on the daughter's face, ya did good.

NTD,
Where do you get Hackberry in AZ?
-
Thats a perfect kids bow NTD and from the smile on her cute little face I'm betting your little girl agrees. :)
-
Thanks guys.
I would have preferred to make her a longer bow but the 48" one I first was working on for her was difficult for her to hold and shoot in her chair, needed to go shorter. As she grows more comfortable I'll be able to move her up to a longer and better bow.
Dane, I got it at WoodCraft. It was listed as Arizona Hackberry, I'm guessing it's Net-Leaf Hackberry so a bit different than the stuff that most people on this site use. I have some more of it that I'm going to attempt a full size bow with.

Sweet. She looks to be enjoying the day with Dad.
-
Awesome post! Seeing that young 'un with that bow made me grin. Great work.
-
That's awesome!
-
Thanks for posting that, these are the posts that just make my day! That big smile she has is contagious.

Great Work NTD! Nice bend on a little bow and your work is obviously well received! Outstanding work adapting that bow for her; way cool. She'll never forget what her daddy made for her. That was cool.

PS: My girls like the no-glove pads, too; and its one less thing to track down when its time to shoot :)
