just wanted to know if someone has ever made an all sinew bow

I know of none that have ever been made and from handling a lot of sinew I suspect it would be impossible. You need a core material.

Hi,
Good question, a all sinew bow would be impractical because while it is very good in tinsel strength it has virtually no compression streanth. That's where the horn comes in or some other core that is good in compression.

Ha! I had a sheephorn bow break that was 1/2 sinew. Just for kicks I pulled the sinew off whole. The tips almost touched with reflex. I was able to stick a string on it and it drew about 12-15 pounds. Probably had about a 40 yard cast. There is no reason to try and prove us wrong. A sinew bow would not work
