Title: Cloth Snakeskin backing

Has anyone used the imitation snakeskin cloth for backing, how did it come out ? is it worth trying

Yes I have used them. I think they look pretty good.

I bought some of the fabric off of the big auction site and used it on this bow.  I think it looked pretty good for a cheap backing alternative

I bought some that is printed on goat leather at a local leather store. I haven't backed a bow with it, Yet, but I did make a super simple quiver.

I use it often, love it. Go to any fabric store and ask for snake skin prints. You can get a lot of fabric really cheap. Just make sure it's not a really stretchy fabric. Cottons work great.

Here's one I just did this month.http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,48969.0.html . I liked how they turned out... They suck up the finish... So you gotta apply several coats to get them smooth.
