Well chased my first ring today. What do you guys think? Did I do ok?

Well it is 60" long has a twist in it. I would like to make a recurve out of her. What you guys think?

If you are looking for a pat on the back, go somewhere else. It's plainly obvious that a gimped 'possum with a missing tail could have chased a ring on the back of THAT stave! You just wanted to post pics of a fantastic stave without looking like you were bragging!
Redeem yourself for the poor example of a "humble brag" by sending me that stave immediately!

I would like to send it to you but being all gimped up and missing my tail has me equilibrium all mest up and I don't think I could make it to the post office to mail it out. So I think I will try to make a nice bow out of it. If I could only keep my draw knife in my arthritic hands. Lmbo!!!

Every stave from now on will be an absolute pain in the butt. You are too used to "easy" stuff now. This stave is your downfall, it has irrevocably poisoned the well.
Not like that will change anything. Once ya got the yaller fever, ya got it for life. Try to wean yourself off with an occassional yew stave only adds a second fever. >:D
Why do you think they call the guys selling wood "dealers"?

I've made a couple of 60"t/t osage recurves. My draw is 26" but I usually tiller out to 28". I've never shot one at 28" for any amount of time though. If you try it be sure to get the limbs to bend right up to the handle or through it.

I just finished one about that length, and it felt to me like it needed a bendy handle to get that much draw out of it. I made a built up cork handle, but you could use leather or rawhide if you want something to hold on to.

Good looking stave,looks like you done a nice job on chasing the ring. :)60 would be a little shot
for me to try a 28 inch draw but some do it here all the time so I suppose it would work OK if you keep everythong bending even and use all the limb you can,bendy handle would be my preference if I wanted a 28 inch draw. :) for my 26 draw that stave would be fine. :)
