It's been awhile since I've finished a bow. After a few failures, I took some time off before starting on this project. And going back to the familiar has been cathartic for me. This bow is definitely familiar!

Found a seasoned stick in the shed and split it out trimmed it up and cut it down to 66". Hooks, holes and a little straighten later this little recurve fell in my lap. The tips are wenge, and the skin is TX phase ratsnake. A little shellac and a top coat of spar to seal it up. This gal pulls 52#@28".

Nice bow, Stringman. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that a lefty?
-
Thanks guys! Forgot to mention that the FD shots were taken with my phone on timer, so they aren't perfect. Still, they give ya an idea of the tiller.

Could be... ::)
This bow was made for the brother of a guy who already has one of my bows. I was trying to figure out a fun way to get it shipped to the guy as a surprise so I called the brother up to ask for the address. During that conversation the guy says "Now, this bow ain't better than mine is it? Cause I don't want him out shooting me!!" How do I answer this... "Nope, but it's just as good!" ;D

Love the hooks on that one Scott...Does the hole go all the way through the fade? Really nice bend man
Don

Yes it does, Don. The request was for a leather grip, otherwise the through hole would have been a nice touch of character.
