Can you knife makers who use cholla for the handle post some photo's and then maybe go to the How to and let me know how you mounted the blade to the cholla and if you use any sealant on the cholla.
Knapped two knife blades I want to put into cholla.

here's one, not a great pic, this one is set with epoxy because someone needed to borrow my pitch glue ;D, wrapped with sinew I burned the cholla a bit and rubbed some of halfeye's pine sealer but you don't have to, I've also wrapped the handle in stretch wrap and stood it upright in sand, and filled it with colored epoxy comes out pretty cool, I mount it just like any other handle material

Very nice. where do you buy colored epoxy or how do you color it?
-
Here is one that I wrapped with blue tape and filled with ya good ole JB weld ;D then sanded to clean up an sealed with spray poly. You can make colored epoxy with food coloring or so I am told.

Nice knife bob, and yep food coloring, dye, a little paint mix it in five min epoxy or regular pour it in and set the blade

Jeb, here is another one that I dropped a wood plug in an then mixxed epoxy an set point, remove plug and addeda osage cap, gives the hollow look yet the point stays solid, I also used natural sausage casing for a differnt hafting look, and sealed with spray poly. Bob
