I have a 54 in 2x1.5 board with a pin knot close to one end I can cut it down to 48 in and be knot free but I could also make the limbs narrow 3/4 or less on the tips and the knot will not effect me either way it will be backed with sinew any  advice

bigfish, You could go 1/2" on the tips and be OK. Take them tips down and skip the knot and leave your length.
