I've always heard you want to wind your serving in a certain direction so that if you have to twist the string to shorten it to the proper length, it will cause the serving to tighten and not loosen. My question is, which way is this? Do you wind the serving in the same direction as the string bundles are wound around each other? Or in the opposite direction?
I think I know the answer, just double checking. I've not paid attention to this in recent years because I'm using a timber hitch which lets you adjust length easily. But I may make some double loop strings and want to be sure I'm doing it right.

Same direction Lennie.

You are a fountain of knowledge Dano. Or at least a good oscillatiing sprinkler.

I think he's been saving that one Dano. Prolly read it in a cartoon somewhere.

David, Lennie is pretty darn funny as you know, ya just have to wait a bit sometimes. ;D

Another thing to think about is to make sure you wind the serving and string so that as you draw it it tightens. For example a right hand shooter should wrap from right to left if looking straight down from the string to the belly.
