Title: two bows from half eye
Post by: Badly Bent on January 14, 2015, 10:13:59 pm
I got two more to add to my collection of fine bows made by fellow PA members. These were both made by Rich (half eye), a guy who's work I have been a fan of for some time. Im sure you all are aware of how generous this man is, we decided to do a bow trade and he sent not one but two of his fine bows. :)  :)

Both are of HHB and have his signature style all over them. The smaller scalloped bow with the pike, eagle and bear claw that represent place, clan and nation is 47.5" ntn and 43# @ 24"
The second one, war bow of Ojibwa is 53.5" ntn and 50# @ 24"

A big thank you to Rich for these two beauties.
After a little bit of shooting in the backyard , and just before frostbite got my fingers I snapped a few pics.
 Enjoy

Yeah, I know that feeling.  I've opened a package to find two of his bows, too.  Indescribable joy!

Nice gift. 8) I guess that's what happens if you decide to give somebody the better one of the two bows you're working at  ;D I could not have decided either... both are extremely nice. I love the black tips with the fur collar, absolutely sweet.

You're double lucky!

Indeed you are.

Damned, you fellas sure can embarrass a guy. I sincerely thank you for the nice compliments but really the Eastern Woodland bows are pretty plain self bows.

Greg you are very welcome, and it takes 2 of mine to make one of yours bud...(ya I'm a big fan) Hope they serve ya well and long.

Those are beautiful bows Greg.  It looks like you got a couple of works of art from the short bow master.  Rich hasn't lost his touch.

Yeah I do feel lucky to be able to have these two on my bow rack along side of the others. About a year ago I decided I had enough bows of my own making for the time being and wanted to start a collection of bows from friends I've made on this forum in the past few years. Didn't take long with this group for me to get a collection going in trades from some of the finest bowyers out there . I got a few more coming up and then I have to take a break, to much pressure on me to try and make something I feel is worthy in exchange for the sweet bows I'm getting from others. ;D ;D
Working on one for Rich that I have at low brace now and hoping it makes the cut. ;)
