The first tool I ever got for bow making was a drawknife off of ebay. All I knew was that I needed a draw knife for making a bow. That was 8 years ago and it's still my favorite tool for bow making. So in my opinion it's definitely worth it but don't fret if ebay doesn't work out. I see them all the time at antique stores.

yup, totally worth it. Old drawknives on ebay are the same quality you'd pay mucho $$$ today for new drawknives. Mine is an 8-inch Karpenter from the 40's, and I love it, bought it for $15. A bit light for some staves, I'd suggest a larger one.

I bought mine on E-Bay, and its great. Its definitely a good place to find one if you're careful. Look for a listing with good photos so you can see what you're buying.

I bought a Worth draw knife off eBay and it's an excellent tool.  It's an 8" one and serves me well.  Just look for one that is not pitted with rust and the back is flat or can be flattened.......most important.  Good luck shopping.

Tyke makes good ones. Hit him up for a possible trade.
