Sure, those will work. Where are you that the bark is already slipping?

ohio ::) i dont know that it was slipping like it would in spring but the wood is still somewhat green so i just used a pocket knife to peel the outer bark off and then scraped the inner bark off with the same knife didnt get all of it just enough to let it dry faster.

Looks like a good chance to try a hollow limb design.

I love the paint on the bench... that should be hanging in a gallery .
I bet you could get some great pictures of that. The contrast between the fresh wacky paint and the old weathered timber, gorgeous.
Be worth a fortune if you could forge Jackson Pollock's signature >:D
Del
(I'm not kidding, I do love the paint...)

I wouldn't use it.

hahahah oh man del i laughed pretty hard seeing this i wish it was solid timber then i might look into it lol but its just a old thin plywood door that's falling apart from being out in the rain. ;D
any particular reason? or just on principle.
I wouldn't use it.

Was it dead, or just pushed over lately ? Whitewood don't last long in a pile or outside.

Bug damage quite often has more underlying troubles than what you see now. The center is all rotted out. Plus you have a multitude of edge and back knots that will fight you the whole way. If you have more, go cut some better stuff. If not? Use it up and see what you can get.

it was pushed over pretty recently along with a bunch of bigger maple trees that i'm going to get a little bit of too >:D

i see thanks i will keep a close eye on it when i start reducing it. but the back knots are not as bad as they look in the pics they are mostly on the sides, i have plenty of straight clean maple to play with but i kinda want to play with a charactor stove and this seemed like a good one to play with if it breaks i'm only out on time it didn't cost me anything ;)
