Title: asian bows

lookin on the internet the other day and read asian bow mongol etc could have a poundage of 180 #plus and shoot over 500 yds is this plausible spesily for a horse bow
i have a istar toth 58# mongol and it shoots 18 f.p.s slower than my 53 # long bow plus how big would you have to be to pull it back the size of your horse?

The Mongol armies owed their success to their bows. It is quite plausible, they could ride in and shoot and ride out without getting in range of the enemy.  I know a guy that is about 5'8" and 120# and can pull 130#.  :o The Mongol archers were full time archers who developed the muscle and skill over years, so why not believe they could pull 180#.
