Title: Dave Mims self hickory bow.
Post by: George D. Stout on March 18, 2015, 04:28:26 pm
I haven't posted for awhile but wanted to share a photo I took of Dave's bow.  He gifted this to me a year before he passed away and it has become a family member.   A great shooter at 48#, 68" long.

Fine looking bow George. That grip looks like it would be comfortable. Just the right weight and length for some fun shooting, eh?

That's a fine looking bow for sure.  Yeah, I really like that grip too.  I'd like to learn how to do those.

David was a fine bow maker, the legacy he left was more about the people whose lives he touched with his generosity, fortunately, I can include myself in this long list of such folk.

George that's a beautiful bow. I have spent almost no time in your neck of the woods, so my education is slightly expanded to see that fox grape grows there.

I was also a little surprised t see a traditional grammarian using the abominable "gifted"  for gave....:(

asharrow, Yeah....I sometimes stumble on my way to the writing bench.   Thinking about one thing while writing another.  That said, I hope most understood that Dave indeed gave me the bow as a gift.
