i just was given a decent piece of black suede. its quite thin so it wont hold a shape. any ideas on how to make a quiver from this? should i just keep it for handle material?

You could make a Plains style bow with a piece of shafting as a stiffener.

Lol. Newb question. So that is the one which hangs over the sholduer as a sort of sack under the armpit with tastles?

If you google "the quiver jay massey" you will find some plans for one. They worked great for me.

Get a piece of poster board and make yourself a pattern. That's how I do all of the ones I make.
