Title: Harvesting Phragmities

I've read phragmities makes some good arrows, and there is a LOT of it around here. A buddy works for a land conservancy and says they remove it all the time on account of it being invasive. I can get my hands on as much as I want. Is there a particular time of year to harvest it? Right now it seems very dry and brittle. Any pointers, let me know.

about 30 minutes before the first frost of the year.  For me that is October sometime.  Give the walls as much time to grow as you can.  It starts to decay shortly after it freezes.
