I haven't used my recurve jig on any of these because I know my gentler reflex jig was enough to fix string angle and I'd just end up working the recurve and pulling it out-- but it actually looks pretty nice if you ask me, I'm happy with it :)

Here it is guys, finished with four coats of tru-oil and one shellac because I got lazy because it's just my bow O:)
The string is a little gaudy/flamboyant, little sister chose the colors and I couldn't agree more ;D
Top nock is a little pointy to help me not string it upside-down ;)

Bottom nock is more rounded for when I drop the poor thing

The widest point where I popped off a little wound in the belly and left a bit of a bowl, this is a full inch

Soaked rawhide strip under-wrap and rawhide laced suede grip

I made a tiny bit of a shelf by forcing a rawhide clipping under the grip and glued a little suede for the pass.

I like it, tell us more... specs, full draw pics, etc., etc.

Really like the braced profile and quit teasing us ..... where's the full draw? :)

Sweet....Go'n have to try on of those shorty's some day.... :)

Lot of draw length for that short bow and I'm also impressed by the low mass weight, nicely done. :)
-
Thanks guys :)
Bent, I'm particularly fond of locust for its low mass per draw, being stiff but light is what keeps these light and me hooked ;D
-
Awesome bow Marc
-
Sweet little bow. Amazing drawlength and weight for such a narrow and short bow. I'd be scared with my skills that it would blow up in my face. Is the recurve on the right side longer than the recurve on the other?
-
Not much wood there! Good job on that one.

Yep. I could have fixed it, I just failed to clamp the bottom all the way and left a little gap between the back and the jig, but as always it's just my bow so it's no biggie ;D

Yeah .... you got all of it out of that piece of wood.

great bow with little wood. Reminds me on the Mohegan recurves. Good work man.
Haven't found it: is it BL or osage, looks like BL.

Oh right, it's locust :) Due to an accident I have a little osage to try this design, pretty sure it'll compare nicely.
-
Good job on that one.
How thick is the bow throughout the working section?
Sterk werk 😎
-
I just split up a short 52 in osage log and got about 5 staves out of it, one of them will definitely be inspired by your bow! Good job bud

It's hard to say without callipers but it looks like 7/16" just out of the grip, juuuust under 3/8" at mid limb, and about 1/4" just before the nock/in the recurves.
-
Nice bow, Marc. That should be fun to hunt with.
-
Very nice little one!
Do another full draw please ;)
-
Just got a
painfully cheap chronograph, this thing is shooting at 164-166fps, feels a little slower than my mollegabets but I'm happy with it ;D ;D ;D
I'll get some better draw shots and maybe a video sometime soon.
