This is an osage bow I finished up a few months ago, it was a father's day gift to my dad. It was heavily inspired by the bows in Allely and Hamm's Encyclopedia of Native American bows, arrows, and quivers. It measures 54" ntn and weighs in at 39# @ 28". It has an asymmetrical diamond nock on the upper limb, and a pin nock on the bottom limb. Cork grip under brain tanned leather (Thanks Scott, stringman) with brain tanned lacing and arrow locating groove. It had been finished with 8 coats of tung oil, and the paintings were done with enamel.

Falcon, that is a beautiful bow! Love the color. How do you fade the colors ?
-
Excellent profile. How many shots did you put through it? It's really held its reflex well.
-
I like everything about it. Nice work!
-
Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.
So far I have put around 500 arrows through it in the past couple months.
Tommyredfox- as far as the fades go, I used both mahogany and burgandy leather dye. I like to take a very small lint free cloth with a small amount of stain and start with the dark end and blend it as the cloth runs out of stain.

I have seen it up real close. BEAUTUFUL bow Falcon.
You going to MOJAM ?
