Post by: bowandarrow473 on August 08, 2015, 01:56:48 pm: I think I read somewhere that by using the inside of the bamboo as the back you could reduce set because the outer wood fibers were stronger and the inner ones weaker, so by using the outside as the belly you would balance the forces, thereby reducing strain on the belly.

Love the way the guy looks at the bow, peers along it, flexes it... all so familiar :)

The Batak people are from Northern Palawan which is just across a narrow sea channel from where I lived. I actually understand just enough of what the chatter is in the background to be able to translate most of it. That was LOT'S of Fun to listen to. Thanx for posting it...

The arrow was wicked and simple. I wonder if the bow will eventually get tempered or at least pick up some poundage from drying.
