I've been working in South Lake Tahoe for the past couple months. It's good work but I asked 'em to work me as much as they could so I haven't had much time to get out and explore. Yesterday I went out before work with my camera and took some pictures of Chimney Beach over on the east shore. I had the place to myself and it was nice to get out the still camera and just take some pictures. I figured this might cool some of y'all off down in the hot lowlands :D

Looks like a beautiful place. That's neat the way your shadow is on the rock on the first pic.

have fun my friend before it gets old and serious. You'll have memories for a lifetime.
I did the same when I thought I was headed for Vietnam, never went, but hitched hiked out half way to Calif. then back to New Orleans, up to DC and Conn. Got robbed in The City of Love and headed back to Florida with $5 and a pack of cigarettes. Had a ball.

Thanks guys! I'm probably going to stay until late September or early October. I'm getting close to being ready to move on though. The lake water is pretty frigid... in the shallows probably about 70 or so but gets down into the 50s down deeper. I kept hearing the water splash weird and would look over quickly thinking it was a manatee or a dolphin coming up for air but of course there are no marine mammals in this lake.

Some nice compositions. Particularly like the shadow on rock.

I always get a kick outa how people refer to the lake,as "lake Tahoe".
The Name Tahoe,is an anglicized version of the Washo word Dah-o,which translates to Lake,so people are calling it Lake Lake.LOL
Most from the area, just call it Tahoe,or the Lake.

Traxx - That is funny but it is also par for the course.
