If I had some wood at work I would be all over it. But Alas, I only have paper clips!

I just got through reading the bow trade and thought I call out and challenge people who see there bow as unshootable I think it would make some good video

I have a few pics of bows exploding but to take a bow and deliberately break it to amuse you is not something I would consider doing. If you want to see it happen then do it yourself

Here's the most viewed page on my blog...

Enjoy!
If you read the whole post, there is an explanation of how it blew.

I blew up two this year. One was fantastic. I knew they would fail so i just strung em and shot em till the bust. The onejust kind of popped and folded over. The other i reefed on it for a final time, the upper limb shot off doing summersalts with an earth shattering kaboom. Haha

I haven't blown one up yet, but I know the day is coming.
I almost want it to happen, to just get it over with.
I think my main problem is I'm shooting a new bow every few
weeks. Well I guess it's not really a problem :D
-
I know that it happens to even the best bowyers, but as nice as you make and tiller them, I wouldn't worry about it too much, goat.
A couple of years ago I had one break on my tillering tree. It was hickory backed elm and it split where I'd filed a temporary nock on the top limb. It split all the way through the handle and down into the bottom limb but stayed intact, no flying pieces.
It sounded like a .22 shot and yeah, I pretty much jumped out of my skin and called it a day after that. :)
-
I've had one serious blow up and a few buckles. Luckily none of the pieces hit me. I did take a serious thump on the head when one snapped on the tiller tree before I learned to exercise the limbs properly.
Exploding arrows scare me way more. Arrow fragments tend to fly around like a drunk stunt pilot. I'm way more cautious about examining my arrows after shooting sessions now.

Lol and yall just sat there and smiled.... lol

It's obvious from the photo that the gravitational force from that beard played a major role in that break.
Buy a razor hippie.

Here is one that blew while I was drawing. This bow had over 1000 arrows through her. She was thin ringed osage with a rawhide backing and the tiger stripe tissue paper covering. It was late one night. Me and Evan Williams were discussing draw length and I pulled her 1" over my draw when she blew...and I mean blew! :o

I have most of my blow ups to Pat. Just can't seem to get them in the burn pile. Patrick

Wish I would have filmed my eucalyptus blowout. Lower limb flew across the room. Twas a blast.

I had one explode on the tillering tree recently....I had tried to fix a splinter....twice...super glue. more super glue. Wrapped really tight with nylon then more super glue the back to tillering and....
.....I cut it into small pieces and tossed the remains....

Del, Shere Khan was one of my favorites and like I said she had over 1000 shots through her. I blame it on the loco water but I did know better than to over draw her. ::)
