Years back I made a bunch of clay beads out of earthenware clay, and have been holding onto them figuring I'd find a use for them one day.  Well I found a use for one of them at least!  Kept getting annoyed with how my string would keep flopping everywhere on my Hunter, so I made a string keeper out of some leather cord and one of the beads.  As you can see in the picture, the bead is just a disk that I pinched with both hands, then turned and pinched again.  There's no glaze, but I added extra iron to the clay when I was working it so when fired it changed to a dark grey color.
I traded for some antler and I'm working on making some fancier looking knotted leather cord with antler as the button, I'll post those as I finish them up.
