Title: Rotary planner ... for backings?
Post by: Knoll on September 07, 2015, 07:31:19 pm
I subscribe to "a number" of YouTube channels.   ::)

Jack Howeling just posted a build for micro-adjustable table to be used in conjunction with rotary planner that chucks into your drill press.

These rotary planner heads are still available on at least one of the major bidding websites.

Any of ya have experience working with these planner heads?

Haven't used one, but I have seen  old time bowyers in books and magazines from the 1940's and 50's using them to thickness backings and slats.
Should be good for what you want, especially when used with a height adjusting  jig like the guy in the vid
