Johnny is our 4-yr-old grandson. It seems like forever have been workin' on this lil bow. Child bows are definitely tough!
He is very much into Ninja Turtles and other super heroes. In fact his nose is glued to a tablet farrrr too much, imo. So I was a bit doubtful about the level of interest he'd have for this bow/arrow stuff. Well, I got quite the surprise! Couldn't wait to take it outside to shoot and that's what he has first wanted to do when arriving at our house on subsequent visits.

48" long, ttt. Fades are 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. Width taper is pyramid beginning about 1" beyond end of fades. Did my usual glue-on flipped tips. Think limb thickness started out at about 5/16" .... I was reluctant to use scraper on this tiny stick, so there was TON of sanding needed to get to final thickness. Final weight is 9# @ 15".

That is a beauty of a first bow for your grandson Mike. Those little kids bows certainly are tough to pull off but that one looks perfect. Enjoy your time shooting together.

What a lucky kid!!

Way to go Mike! Great job on the bow and getting him interested in archery.

One more to complete. Then all the grandkids have a bow, or two. Hoping the children are done havin' babies!
-
Good job getting him off the electronic horse, nice looking bow and kid gramps😉

There's a few superheroes who use bows, like Hawkeye in the Avengers and Green Arrow (modern day Robin Hood).

Thanks for the kind words.
There was a time ... not so long ago ... when I woulda thunk there was no way to make such a stick for a young'un. Many of you have, via posts here on PA or in person at rendezvous', shown what's possible to do for a kiddo.
I just tried to mimic ya'll! And Johnny said, "Thanks!"
:) ;) :)
