I have 2 flooring planks of Cumaru or Brazilian teak. It’s very heavy and dense as I see it. Actually one of the heaviest pieces of wood I have seen in person!
I have never had any IPE to compare, but some research says that Cumaru is only 2.5% less than Ipe for hardness.
Just wondering if anybody has tried this wood? It seems to have a wavy grain, at least the stuff I have…..I was thinking about backing with Boo. I assume it is oily wood, so any advise on gluing would be helpful.
I may also use it for a new takedown riser for a recurve I have.

Looking it up, I see that its in the Fabaceae, the bean family. Like many latin american woods, the teak name was just thrown on because of color similarities. Its probably good. Average sg of .86
