Post by: Blaflair2 on September 28, 2015, 11:08:36 am
Got this bow in a trade from Blackhawk. Picked it up this weekend. Man it's a beauty. Don't have a full draw pic. But I figured I'd let ya drool over it any whoo. 56" Osage, 60@28"

Haha yeah I made it through it. Chris tried to teach me how to tiller better. After hinging the bow I was working on I think I got an F lol. I learned a lot and had a good time. I got the BL bow in a lot better shape. It's like 3/8" thick and doesn't flex yet. I may have made it a bit wide lol. All in all it was a good time. Thanks again chris

Looks like you made out pretty good.

How wide is your BL bow? You can start reducing the width as you tiller but I wouldn't go with less than 1 1/2" wide.

Well pat, it's 2 1/4" at the fades lol. I followed someone else's dimensions but this piece of wood is considerably dense. Chris will tell ya. I plan on getting it heat corrected and narrow her down

You're lucky, he's an ornery cuss but makes some bows that will shoot, I've seen one. Is that bow a stiff handle, couldn't tell from the pictures? It sure looks fast and efficient.

It's a bendy, got a cork build up and some hemp twine I believe. She's nice eddie.

Was the handle spliced or bent? Do you know?

Bent, he made a static out of the rest of the stave. Same profile with hooks.

Well, got it done today with this little rocket launcher. First deer with a bow, primitive or other wise. She's not a monster but dammit she's mine. The shot wasn't the greatest, I spined her. Then shot her 2 more times on the ground. Not how I planned it to go but what can ya do.
