Title: 1st Completed Bow Beautiful Osage
Post by: RedBear1313 on October 11, 2015, 02:51:16 pm
Well after many sporadic hours off and on of working and asking many questions I finally completed my first bow.
Now I just need to wrap the handle and build up the shelf.
Shot in and feels good to shoot.
How do you guys like it?

Came out lighter than I wanted, 40# @ 26".   Was going for 50

Had a couple mistakes that forced me to remove more material than I wanted but that wont happen next time.

I'll try to get a full draw pic today.

It's a great feeling to have that first one done, isn't it?   Sooooo much to learn.  I posted up #4 today and am really enjoying myself.  Looking forward to your next one!

Nicely done!  A nice shooting 40 pounder is plenty for whitetail.  Josh

Looks pretty nice. I like the unique handle.

Hard to tell from a braced pic alone but it looks like the upper limb is a little flat compared to the lower. Maybe it is just the angle of view or maybe this reflects a funky unbraced profile. That is where unbraced profile and full draw pics help us help you.

Welcome aboard!

Im in KC and we have a club that I have been going to and they all told me that it as long as it shot well I was done.

But I still will get another pic of full draw for you guys to look at.

+1 If you want to be content, compare your work to what you started with. If you want to learn and improve, compare your work to perfection.

Yes I still plan on getting a few more pics of full draw when I get the time.

The handle fits my hand exactly and I based it on the ergonomic designs of several handles from tape guns and forlkifts from work that I thought felt really good in my hand.

I watched a youtube vid by billy berger where he gave the tip of if the handle fit your hand really well, it will help you get the same grip placement every single time you pick up the bow which will help you shoot better.

I'm an inexperienced shooter as of yet so I figured that would really help me get shooting better faster.
