Title: It was a good day
Post by: unkieford on November 29, 2015, 12:16:36 am
Bragging and chest thumping time....

I went to the range early, and had it all to myself for almost an hour.
Then, people started showing up, and it got... BETTER!
I got to shoot with some youths, and give 'em some pointers.
One of my friends arrived with 2 big well seasoned staves he doesn't want. One elm, the other mulberry. (Will have to decide what to do next!)
He also dumped some really nice hickory lumber in my truck. One of 'em is just perfect. Backing strips? Or a board bow? Decisions!
Another friend brought out a 70 # Ben Pearson for me to test drive. Hooray!
He also had a dozen poc shafts and an old 40# yew longbow. He wants me to build a dozen arrows out of the shafts, and in exchange, I get that pretty little yew stick.

Oh, and I got to shoot for 4 hours, too!
