Title: Splitting ERC

I came across some really good ERC logs but they are green. When should I split them? Thanks!

 Seal the end of the log and split that sucker!

If it is like all I have done it splits very easy. :)

You'll also want to debark them.  Bugs like to get under there.  Once you split and store them, the staves should dry out pretty well in just a few months.
