Anybody want guess
-
Felis domesticus?
-
I played this game with my cousins. I don't know scientific name but if your guess is cat that is incorrect.
-
PS that was my cousins first guess.
-
Ok, my first guess was a purr-fect failure
-
Good try I can see why people guess it.
-
Very few carnassial teeth, maybe something in the mustelid family...if the back of the skull was longer.
Nothing for reference to figure size, hmmm.
-
I could give a hint on size if you really want
-
Smaller than a bread box?
-
Yes
-
Wolverine
-
Isorry smaller
-
I don't know what mustelid family is if you could you give example
-
I don't know what mustelid family is if you could you give example
Weasel family. Of which the wolverine is the largest.
Is it a Stinkosaurus wrecks? also known as a skunk?
-
I believe you are in the right family smaller
-
Not stink osourus Rex but do have a simular odor.
-
A squeezle? Minx?
-
Winner winner chicken dinner. It's a stinky minky. Pretty cool skull jaw hinges Unbelievablly wide open very scrappy little buggers
-
If you have ever held a live one (it was tame, or I would have never survived to tell the tale), you would think you had a hold of a slinky in a fur suit! Absolutely acted as boneless as Jello!
-
I've never held one saw a kid on you tube that had a couple he trained to get rats and muskrat. Very interesting he should how he trained this one he got from a mink farm it was vicious kid had some balls I'll tell you.
-
Thanks for playing guys
-

I saw that guy! He's batcrap crazy! LOL!
-
Ain't he though if I remember right the mink he had wasnt aggressive enough to suit him so he went to this farm and got the craziest buck the guy had. Kid really had determination.

Falconry with furry fighters
-
If anybody else want to post a skull go for it I have a limited supply.
-
Just got in from the fields kinda late but l'm guessing this one might not take very long
-
Ground hog
-
Sorry ground hog is incorrect
-
beaver
-
Close smaller
-
Muskrat love?
-
Ding ding ding we have a winner. Kinda cool skull too. Thier front teeth go way back in thief skull.
-
It's very similar to a beaver and ground hog skull. That was a good one. Keep them coming. I like this game. I've got a small skull collection that I'm trying to expand.
-
Thanks for playing I'm gonna hit the sack now been along day. Yea they definitly remind me of Bever. Your sure welcome to post one of yours or anybody that has one
-
I keep telling my wife that wanting to collect skulls of critters is normal- and educational. This is a fun game and I'd like to see some more!
-
I like them too really fascinating I think. My wife doesn't share my view, I just don't understand women sometimes. I'll try too put another up tonight I'm to busy to really play now but anyone that has skulls please feel free to post them. Glad you like the game my cousins did too.
-
I guess I'm fortunate that my wife doesn't mind a skull or two around. She's an artist and can see the beauty in them.
-
Well I love my wife great cook loads of fun treats me better than I deserve but she's definitely not the artist in the family. She allways complains when I "hang another dead thing on the wall" but truth be told after there up she won't let you take them back down and my room is her favorite room in the house.
-
Guys I'll try to post skull about 8:30 pm MI. time. It's 5:24 mi right now we're same as east coast I think.
-
Maybe we could do another thread to have a contest to identify who pooped in the woods? (I love the scat identification book "Who Pooped in the Woods")
It's all woodscraft! Right?
Although that one time I was using my jerky shooter gun and I shot out a curled up dump of venison, spices, and salt and dried it in the dehydrator. Later that winter I was carrying it in my pocket for late season muzzleloading deer season. I placed it in some grass and called my buddy, Mikey, over to help with I.D. Cat, coon, skunk, sasquatch, everything was hazarded and immediately eliminated (PUN INTENDED). Eventually, we were both down on one knee looking closely at it. It was then that I bent over and started to theatrically sniff great sniffs of it. "Jeez, DUDE! Really?" was all he could say. I looked up and said it smelled kinda good. The look on his face was priceless, so I reached down and picked it up, "Here, smell it, it really smells good!" Mikey leans in with skepticism written all over his face, one tentative sniff and he launches a string of four letter words, ending with "Disgusting, gross, aw man!" (This is the same guy that will walk into a room, drop a silent fart and ask if anyone smells popcorn, then laugh uproariously as someone gets a lungful of poison gas) I could not help myself, I took a bite of the jerky "turd" and he retched. Big tough former Marine dry heaved while I died laughing. Good times.
-
That my friends is truly funny. I could see where that was going 1/3 way though but couldn't stop laughing long enough to finish reading it. Sounds good to me
-
Well I'm still out in field but I'll give a try could be a little slow to reply I think this one will go fast
-
I know but I'll let someone else chime in. I took some pictures of a skull this evening. I'll post them after someone guesses this one.
-
Glad you got some Osage cause this is my last one for now. Thought I was gonna have to go with JW's idea and start taken pictures of turds
-
I can get plenty of those pictures in my line of work ;)
-
coyote?
-
Really close Jackson smaller
-
Must be a fox then
-
You got it it's a Red Fox to be precise. Thanks for playing everyone here's my skulls
-
3 reds, 1 mink, 1 muskrat their really pretty easy to clean up just skin put in pot simmer for a couple hours everything falls off like soup. Hardest part is teeth sometimes fall out and lower jaw splits and has to be glued back together.
-
You also have to remove brain I just poke something in through back of skull mix it up then rinse it out. Remove cartilage from nasal area with pliers
-
You need to make a brain blaster.
Here is one of my skulls

-
Has many similarities to mink. I've really never looked at one before maybe squirrel? Teeth and jaw hinge very simular to mink.
-
Bigger than a mink
-
Otter?
-
Yes sir. It's a big river otter.
-
I can see the similarity .very few arround here
-
Thanks for posting thought I'd have to find a pile of
Bat gwana. What is your occupation Osage?
-
Treatment plant operations :P
-
Floaters
-
Here is another one
(http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv22/Outlawstaves/20160504_200243_zpsu4fgpfxn.jpg) (http://s666.photobucket.com/user/Outlawstaves/media/20160504_200243_zpsu4fgpfxn.jpg.html)
And for a size perspective.

-
Just came in tractor cab from out in the sun glasses are dark yet hard to see teeth but I'm gonna guess mouse
-
You are correct. Here is another

-
I think I know but I'm gonna see if somebody else can get it.
-
Some kind of turtle?
-
box turtle?
-
I was gonna say snapping turtle. I still remember when I was wee lad, riding my tricycle through the mud puddles. There was this big stone that would move when I tried to run it over. I remember my dad taking a stick and that snapper biting and dad picking it right up. Even at that young age I knew that was something I didn't want to poke with my finger.
-
It is a small turtle. The mowing crew at work ran over it and sliced it into several pieces. I cooked the skull in a bowl on the coffee maker hot plate that night at work.
Here is another. It has a deformity on its nose. This one shouldn't be to hard. The next one might be tougher.
(http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv22/Outlawstaves/20160504_200051_zpsbgzu6bt3.jpg) (http://s666.photobucket.com/user/Outlawstaves/media/20160504_200051_zpsbgzu6bt3.jpg.html)

-
^^ cleaver ;D
-
That would be my guess. Hope everybody at work likes there coffee strong
-
Not a beaver
-
Groundhog.
-
Yep. This might be tougher. I had one jaw made into a knife handle.
(http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv22/Outlawstaves/20160504_195851_zpswe0j3ii3.jpg) (http://s666.photobucket.com/user/Outlawstaves/media/20160504_195851_zpswe0j3ii3.jpg.html)

-
staffordshire terrier?
-
I almost want to say a primate very interesting shape
-
I think my 2nd guess would be bat
-
... very cool knife handle too.
-
staffordshire terrier?
Close
-
Bulldog?
-
rotty?
-
rotty?
We have a winner! It was a very aggressive rottweiler that terrorized the neighborhood. It made the mistake of attacking our livestock. I never found out who the owner was. I found the skull in the woods where we left it. It was to cool looking to leave out there.
-
Glad it just got livestock wouldn't want it getting family. Dogs like that shouldn't be allowed to run arround stray not that any really should.
-
Not very knowledgeable about skulls and identification. But I do have this one that I found underneath my workshop floor when I tore it up. It's sort of my shot mascot. The only guess I would have would be skunk, raccoon, and possum being that usually what I'm evicting out underneath my shed. Any ideas guys I would love to know. I know it's not in the best of shape and most of its teeth are missing
-
It's not a possum. They have a longer nose. I'm guessing raccoon.
-
I would agree with Osage. I skinned a lot of raccoons I don't have a skull but shape looks right.
-
These are two different critters but closely related

-
This is a S.W.A.G. I don't think teeth look right but seems like they start deep in skull like rodents. Bugs bunny and a Ginnie pig.
-
Not even close.
-
I really didn't think so.
-
They are a little more dangerous than a rabbit or guinea pig.
-
Didn't you see the episode were bugs wanted the bigger reward for his capture?
-
Nope.
The teeth are more predator shaped than rodent.
-
Thier shape of skull reminds me of raccoon but I don't think so. I'm kinda thinking cat maybe cougar and bobcat but seems like teeth would be more needle shaped.
-
hard to scale these.
bobcat?
i want to guess that the smaller skull is a domestic cat.
-
I was kinda thinking the same thing le0n.
-
hard to scale these.
bobcat?
i want to guess that the smaller skull is a domestic cat.
Winner!
The big one is a bobcat. I found the smaller one in the woods. I believe it is a domestic cat based on the size and shape.
-
OK, this one should be easier.

-
That was a good one Osage thanks for posting. I think I know this one
-
oink oink oink :)
-
I think your right put an apple in its mouth
-
It's a wild boar.
What about this one
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r55/clintanders/SDC11192.jpg)
-
Gator?
-
Horse
-
no and no
-
Donkey
-
How about an elk
-
those are some peculiar canines...
-
Bovine?
-
How about an elk
The Dancing Bear is correct. It's a cow elk. The canines are their "ivory" teeth.
I've only got a couple left. This is not the same as the skull I posted earlier today.
(http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv22/Outlawstaves/20160507_211407_zpsked8ijho.jpg) (http://s666.photobucket.com/user/Outlawstaves/media/20160507_211407_zpsked8ijho.jpg.html)
-
^^ it's not a pig ;)
I've only got a couple left.
thanks for sharing these ;D
-
Whatever it is is cool is it from USA? Not going exotic on us and putting up Phumba. Warthog?
-
It is from the USA and I never said its not a pig. It's just not the same species as the other one I posted.
-
Is it domestic pig?
-
Nope
-
Javilin?
-
^^ yep.
javelina
^^ it's not a pig ;)
it is in the same 'order' as pigs, along with hippos and other animals.
-
That one was really cool Osage might have to visit my taxidermy buddy I know he's got some stuff can't remember what all. He allways likes to put pinstripes on not really my style but I guess that's what sells.
-
current primitive sin: skull envy
hah hah. i guess this can be remedied.
-
It's a javelina or peccary. I had to clear my stuff out of my office at work and I brought home a skull I haven't posted yet. I'll get pictures of it up tomorrow.
-
A new one for today

-
Black & Tan Walker coon hound?
-
cool 8)
not much room for brains in there.
-
Looks like more room for ears than brains
-
^^ more room for jaw muscles to clamp those teeth down on you.
-
I thought this one would be easier. We discussed this critter earlier on this thread.
-
Is it a grin er?
-
(http://i.imgur.com/5s3hVTd.jpg)
-
I like that wonder if the cage comes with it?
-
It's a possum skull. I like the free cat picture. That's funny.
Besides a few in the freezer I think that is about all the different skulls that I have. This is the last one that I have to post.
-
E.T.? I loved the free cat I'd take if the "cage" came with it.
-
lady gaga?

Winner!
-
This has made my morning. Well done everyone.
-
If we are all out of skulls in our collections maybe we can grab a few pictures off the interwebs and try to figure out what they are.
-
I'd be all for that everybody seemed to like this game even if they didn't guess. Better hold on to that Lady Ga Ga one might be worth something some day.
-
Any guesses on this one? It's on my skull wish list.
-
Any guesses on this one? It's on my skull wish list.
Night manager at the Hotel California?
-
Tufted deer?
-
It's a muntjac. They might be the same animal that goes by different names.
Here is another on my wish list.
-
Those things are crazy strange
-
That's why they are on my wish list.
-
Warthog?
-
Yes sir it is.
-
Pertty crazy thought they'd look more like a pig.
-
After seeing what domestic boars can do with their baby tusks, those whoppers are scary!!!!!
-
I would guess it's some species of prehistoric pig or wart hog.
Kevin
-
All of my friends that hunt Africa tell me the Warthog is the easiest and cheapest animal to shoot over there, about $150. They can't do damage like Boar hogs or sows here, those big tusk are dull and get in the way. if you look at the bottom tusk you will see the sharp ones.
-
Took my youngest to Orentation at Comunity College. While waiting for him to take a test my wife and I checked out their skull collection.
-
Is that a short faced bear?
-
It is a prehistoric "Cave Bear" I'm gonna say that's close enough for a win to me. This one has some reflection from glass case.
-
I was close.
What about this one
(http://insider.si.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/skull.jpg)
-
This one has some reflection from glass case.
what in the world. i think that skull is very large. is it a sloth? why is there a bar in his teeth?
-
What about this one
and why does that look so dog like? but it's too small for a dog.
it definitely looks carnivorous.
-
I'm thinking sloth also on that one BJ
-
Yes your right it is a giant ground sloth, good job guys yes I believe that there was a rod placed horizontally between jaws
-
I agree Le0n this ones teeth look very much like a canine's, almost want to say puppy but teeth look old and worn. Cool very well taken care of specimen.
-
Is it some type of bat?
-
I was thinking wolf bat
-
It's a bat skull
-
Cool one Osage looks like a flying puppy. I'm pretty sure everybody has this one on there wish list.
-
Dang it. Too slow.
I was watching a documentary a few hours ago and it had some fruit bats that the natives were catching. Looked just like a flying dog.
-
Here's one for you guys...
(http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y199/PatBNC/Mastadon%20Skull_zpshk2xw3wp.png) (http://s5.photobucket.com/user/PatBNC/media/Mastadon%20Skull_zpshk2xw3wp.png.html)
-
That's nice Pat time to get out the Atl Atl darts. I had a picture of one also but yours is much nicer
-
You can thank Google for the pic. ;)
-
Yea I was pertty sure that wasn't in your personal collection. I'm sure if we could any of us would build a little addition on sure would look good in a man cave.
-
I thought that was your first primitive kill Pat ;D
-
Not that good with an atlatl, Clint and I'm not sure how effective a 50#-55# bow would be. ;D
-
skunk
-
No idea, but it's a cool skull. ;) :)
Pappy
-
I guess the last 3 or 4 skulls might have got a bit jumbled together. The answers are I posted a Giant Land Sloth, then Osage posted some kind of a bat, then I posted a Saber Tooth Tiger, and Pat posted what I believe is a Woolly Mammoth. This was a fun tread if anyone has any of their own skulls please feel free to continue this game. It was fun playing with you all.
Bjrogg
-
If you really cannot stand to walk the earth a day longer without collecting at least one really freaking cool skull, Google "Bone Clones". All the great apes, including numerous and various human skulls, anteaters, gila monsters, and more. The sabertooth skull is a mere $309, if you have that burning a hole in your pocket.
-
Is that for I genuine saber tooth skull? I wonder what Kinda shape it's in I'd really like one but my wife would have mine sitting on a shelf
-
Is that for I genuine saber tooth skull? I wonder what Kinda shape it's in I'd really like one but my wife would have mine sitting on a shelf
Nah, clones made from castings of actual artifacts. They are pretty good. I had a USF&W agent looking over my eagle skull pretty darn close once! Resin cast: $130. Real one: $25,000 fine and up to 5 years on the pokey.
-
Beaver?
