Title: Bowstring hemp (Sansevieria trifasciata)??
Post by: loon on May 19, 2016, 11:08:53 pm
Sorry for the nastiness in the 2nd picture

Found what I think might be this as an ornamental plant growing around here. Cut off a dying leaf. It was very hard if not impossible to tear off. Seems like it has strong fibers.

Just split the leaf lengthwise a bunch of times. Don't actually know how to process it.

It did not always split evenly... even if splitting from the thin end.

I mean to try it as a bowstring, but maybe this should be moved to primitive skills?

Looks like Yucca to me from the leaf picture. :)
