Hey Everyone,
Today we are doing something a little bit different.
I recently learned of a friend who had a serious and sudden spinal cord injury. He is still in hospital and we are wishing him all the best in his recovery.
Learning of the news immediately brought me back to my near neck breaking experience playing around in the shore break in mexico. I figure I was fractions of a inch from breaking my own neck, and every day I am grateful that I am walking.
So, what I would like to do is to auction off one premium yew stave, with all proceeds going directly to my friend and his recovery. On top, I will pay for the shipping anywhere in the world. So here is your chance.
I looked through my wood piles for a while and I went through quite a few before finding something that I would call exceptional. This came from my own custom bow stock pile, and I do not often part with wood of this calibre. So here we go.
We will do this as a blind auction, so email or send a message with what you would be willing to pay and I will post only the number so others know where we are at. In one week we will close this and I will send you an invoice you can pay via credit card. Again all proceeds will be passed along.
Thanks so much,
Jamie MacDonald

I really do appreciate all that you are doing purely out of kindness

Bryce, everybody wants to see you get better, you have your life ahead of you and a lot of talent. Don't get discouraged, I came back after a year and a half to start feeling sensations in my toes and later my legs from a broken back and hip, which left me paralyzed from the waist down. It took at least another few years to start surfing and training in Karate again. I was 28 when it happened and full of energy and worked my ass off in Physical Therapy when they said there was little hope. That's BS, there is always hope. Don't give up.
We're all here for you, the extended Family.

Eddie, thank you so much for the good words.
Seriously above and beyond gentleman.
-
Eddie is right Bryce hang tough keep your chin up and work with what you got. It's great to see you on here were all routin for you.

Oh piffle! This is the norm. After all, I remember some nutball offering a $600+ bow as an incentive for people to buy subscriptions to P.A. with no expectation of personal benefit. Its what we do around here, RIGHT?
RIGHT, PEOPLE???
-
That's right JW!

Alright, we are officially all wrapped up.
The final bid came in at 700 cdn from kind friend who took a workshop a few months back (thanks Todd!)
Upon hearing what we were doing my generous mother threw in a hundred bucks cash (thanks mom!)
and after talking it over with my wife (thanks Jenna!) we decided to match the 700 for the stave, because life has been so good to us. So the final raised was 1500 cdn which converts to 1153 usd.
We just put proudly put it through on the fundraising site, so we trust it will help you out on your journey.
All the best,
Jamie & Jenna
