Title: Little Kentucky class act
Post by: half eye on August 09, 2016, 05:54:39 pm
Although I participated in a couple of this years trades I was also gifted a couple of bows. Each one of them deserve special note because both are made by members who took up the bad habit of making some "bendies".

This is one of those bows, black locust, fummed, 54" and 50+ @ 25"....made by Mr. Gutshot. This bow is very light in mass, very smooth in the draw, and screamin fast. But the most important thing is that it fits me to a "T" and is perfectly calm in the hand with no string noise at all. After about 500 arrows, it sits dead flat and hasn't changed one lick, still well mannered and blazing quick. The tips look like the regular laminated built-up types but are self knocks, yes he chased enough rings to make these tips from the original stave .....anyways took her out to a nice little steam for some nice portrait pics.
    Hope they do her justice

That stream side looks like a happy place to be with that bow too! Couldn't get much better in my estimation.

Nice bow and very nice photos.  Looks like a nice stream to raise a few trout.

Thank you fellas for the nice comments. Both gutshot and Mr. Burchette make absolutely fine bows.

Will B,  these head waters are chock full of native brook trout....mouth black as coal and the meat more red than salmon....some of the best eatin there is.

paoliguy, the whole area around is very peaceful and quiet.

Thank you fellas again I'm sure the makers appreciate it also. Del, George thanks for the comments gentlemen.
Turtle, will send a PM here shortly, got a few more med tests to get through first.
