On another note Fred looks tasty

Newindian....yea that's a lot of pork there. Both the bull and the pig are actually twice the normal size I'd say.Now this pumpkin is something else...about 100 times the normal maybe.Chainsaw carver was there too.A lot of fun watching that emerge as he cuts...keeps you guessing...lol.

Thanks for sharing Beadman. I always enjoy a good fair.

Great pictures. Our county fair is next week. Spent a lot of time there when my boys were in 4h.
-
Suddenly craving Carolina style pulled pork BBQ, Kansas City style smoked beef ribs, and pumpkin pie.
-
Love the metal draft horse!!!
-
Always something of interest to see at a fair. You captured some good subjects in your pictures Ed, nice photos and thanks for posting them.
-
The chainsaw carver was something else.Using walnut he darn near got a bald eagle to have a white sapwood head and brown body. That Iowa state fair or state fairs in general got enough things you can't all see in a day.Did'nt get a pic of the butter cow...sorry.

Really neat Pictures ....Ed

I think that horse sculpture is from John Lopez, a guy I know from here in South Dakota. He is starting to get a lot of notice around the country. Love the big ol' hog napping away. I kinda feel that after a trip down Junk Food Row at the fair!!!

I enjoyed the pics.
Thank you for sharing.
That bull looks lika a gentle giant.

JW....Yes that could easily be.Many artists donate their work to these things.
neuse...Yes it can look that way.I see a ring in his nose to control him some though.A rope is around his neck too although it looks pretty thin for him. These big animals really don't know their own strength.Just walking around and leaning against a pipe panel could move it outward 2 to 3 feet without any effort at all.He seemed to be used to the human attention which is understandable getting that all of his life.

Hey, you found Bon Jovi's horse!

Really nice pictures Ed that's the stuff I look at at the fair too. Chainsaw guys where at ours last year it is really neat watching them create something. I'm thinking Fred would stuff a lot of sausage skins.

Just curious. Does a pig have enough intestines to stuff itself? Honest question, not a "go stuff yourself joke) ;D ;D

I think we are going to the Kentucky state fair next week. These pictures are just helping me get in the mood!
